Copper Mug is one of the hottest trends right now. Copper Mugs, Pitcher and Jars are selling crazy on the internet and you can even find them showing up on most store shelves and bars around the world. It was made famous by the cocktail drink in the 1950's called the Moscow Mule. Made of vodka, ginger beer and lime juice that is served in a copper mug.

Why is the Moscow Mule served in a Copper Mug?

Copper Mugs are commonly used to keep drinks cold. Copper was greatly use in cooking before as it conducts heat better than other metal. Heat spreads evenly throughout the copper surface and it retains the heat quickly. Same works when cold is applied to it, it gets cold quickly and retains it across the entire surface longer than other metal.

The metallic surface of the copper mug especially the rim feels colder to the lips even when mug is just half filled with a cold drink. The copper retains the coldness longer and makes your lips feel chill when it touches the rim even when the liquid on it really isn't. Another reason is that the lime & ginger taste best when served in a copper mug. You won’t need nearly as much ice to keep your drink cold even up to the last sip.
